Round Three Playoff Game Information

Notification to parents:
We have had one confirmed case of Pertussis (whooping cough) in our district with a possible second case being tested.
Please be vigilant in watching for symptoms in your child and it is recommended that if you believe your child to be sick, please seek medical care for testing and treatment.
Please notify the school nurse of any positive cases.
Below are the signs and symptoms to look for as well as the exclusion policy for school.
Early symptoms (first 1-2 weeks)
Runny nose or congestion, Sneezing, Mild fever, and Occasional cough.
Later, more severe symptoms
Severe, violent coughing fits, also called paroxysms
The coughing is followed by a high-pitched "whoop" sound when breathing in
Vomiting after coughing fits
Exhaustion after coughing fits
Difficulty breathing or pauses in breathing
Lips, tongue, or nailbeds may turn blue during a coughing spell
Exclusion policy:
The person who tested positive can return to school upon completion of five consecutive days of appropriate antibiotic therapy.
